Exhibition dates change everything in W14. When Olympia London is running, the surrounding streets take a volume of vehicles they were never laid out for, and much of what we replace that week is kerb damage inflicted by drivers looking for a space rather than at the kerb. Between shows, West Kensington, Barons Court and Avonmore are mansion blocks and terraces where the tyres come off for the ordinary reasons — age, wear, a nail from the road works, a valve that gave up in the cold.
